We see this as a great option for retrofitting in existing fireplace openings where customers no longer want to use gas or wood burning. Mounting Above and Below the Fireplace 

For safe clearance from heat vents, mount the fireplace at least 8 inches from the ceiling. Leave 8 inches of space between the fireplace and a flat-screen TV for TV mounting. We recommend placing the fireplace at least 6 inches from the floor.
